Scor-It!

Is scoring a challenge for you?  Scor-it is a new scoring board that takes the guesswork out of scoring.  It's an attractive 12" x 13" board with a non-slip surface so your paper stays flat, and rubber feet on the bottom so the board stays put on your work surface.  Scor-it has a centering ruler at the top, and a metal scoring ridge that runs straight down the center of the board.  You use a ridged tool made of purple heartwood to score the paper by moving the tool downward over the scoring ridge.

Ann Gibson, the owner of the innovative Movable Parts rubber stamp company, is famous for her fabulous accordion cards.  She makes a popular accordion card with her cat images, and this complex card used to take her 20 minutes of measuring and folding.  With the Scor-it, she can fold the same accordion card in TWO minutes!

Scor-it paves the way for beautiful folds with -- or even against -- the grain of your paper!  It's also terrific for embossing lines, frames, borders and designs.

Scor-it stands on its side when you're not using it -- very convenient!  It's just under a half-inch thick, so it takes up no more room in your studio that an idea book.  A very handy tool and very nicely made!

Do you have a large stack of cards or signatures that you need to score?  Then the Scor-it stop guide will be helpful.  The stop guide is an adjustable stop that allows you to place your cardstock in the same spot each time, without measuring each time.  It's a great time-saver when you have repetitive jobs to to.  And it's FREE with your Scor-it!

Q - What’s the difference between the Scor-It Board and other scoring tools?
A -
This is one of our favorite questions. The Scor-it Board is the ONLY scoring tool on the market that allows consumers to make professional-quality hinge score lines, just like printers provide when they do machine scoring. Hinge score lines crease, but do not break or damage the fibers in paper, card stock and chipboard up to 24 pt. -- whether you score with or against the grain! The difference is easy to see. The Scor-it brochure, available on the Scor-it website in the Learning Center, goes into more detail about the importance of a quality score.

Q - Could you compare the 12” Board with the Mini?
A -
Both boards are quite popular and we’re discovering that many people want both. Those who make cards and smaller projects favor the Mini for its portability and small size. Those who want to score decorative embossed borders, create journaling lines on 12” scrapbook pages or make larger cards and accordion books like the original 12” Scor-it Board.

Q - How should I store the Scor-it Board when I’m not using it?
A -
Stand the board upright, like a book.  It will take very little space on a shelf -- less than two inches.  Or store it in a tote bag or box designed to hold scrapbook papers. One creative friend stores hers in a plastic zipper bag that she’s attached to a skirt hanger!
