Circle punches with a purpose!
We had a "mission" at the CHA show last year...
one of our goals was to find circle punches that would fit some of our circular
products. I carried a box of products from booth to booth at the show,
trying punches everywhere punches were offered. I am happy to say that
these efforts paid off! I was able to find the
perfect circle sizes for several products. Look below to see the punch
matched with the product.
McGill circle punch and clear metal-rimmed tags
I love these clear metal rimmed tags, but I had been
having a hard time cutting a neat circle to use with them. This circle
punch, from McGill's Stackables series, was a perfect fit! You would use it
for other projects, as well, but the size is an ideal match for these large
metal rimmed tags. The circles above were punched from magazine ads and gift
wrap. Other things to punch are photographs, dictionary pages, foreign
text, large letters or numbers, names, etc. Sorry about the glare on the
picture... I'll try to post a better photo soon.

Rollabind discs aren't just for bookbinding!
Another search successful! Rollabind discs make
great frames for letters, numbers and tiny pictures for decorating scrapbook
pages. We searched and searched until we found punches that will punch material to fit inside Rollabind
discs!
These cards by Holly Craft show
some great ideas for using Rollabind discs as embellishments! In the center
card, she used the Marvy Clever Lever circle punch to cut out letters she made
with the Wizard Diecut and Embossing System. These fit perfectly inside
large Rollabind discs in the primary colors. For the beach card (on the
left), Holly made a sun and a beach ball with Rollabind translucent discs.
(Layers on the beach card were attached with decorative Fastenater
staples!) On the Christmas card on the right, large translucent
Rollabind discs made shimmery tree ornaments. Holly is an artist and instructor
from Atlanta, Georgia.
Marvy's Clever Lever punch (above left) punches a circle that fits perfectly
inside a large Rollabind disc. The orange punch, from Tonic Studios' boot
punch line, punches a circle is only a tiny bit larger than the
inside of a medium Rollabind disc. By pressing the outer edge with an
embossing tool (or a fingernail!), you can fit the circle into the disc and it
will stay put without adhesive.
