Genesis Trimmers use a unique
gear-driven rotary cutting system. Genesis cutter wheels
stay sharp for an extraordinarily long time, but after years of
use (or constant daily use over time), the sharpened edge will
begin to wear away. When cuts are no longer crisp
and even, it is time to replace the cutter wheel.
Replacement cutter wheels come with a new brass gear attached.
You'll need an Allen wrench
to remove the old cutter wheel and install the new one.
Genesis cutter wheels are universal and can be used with all
sizes of Genesis Trimmers.

Carriage Assembly
Companies and individuals who use Genesis Trimmers
five days a week, 52 weeks a year, for YEARS may eventually need to replace a trimmer's
cutter wheel, idler gear and/or nylon bearing. The Genesis carriage
assembly includes all of these essential parts already assembled by expert
Genesis technicians and tested by quality control. To replace the
carriage, you'll just unscrew the ends of the slide bar, slide the old
carriage off, slide the new one on and re-attach the original handle. The installation process is
simple, quick and foolproof -- and the result is almost like getting a brand new trimmer!
A new Genesis carriage assembly replaces 10 essential trimmer parts at once,
including the carriage itself, the cutter wheel, gear,
bushing and axle; idler gear and screw; nylon bearing; and a new washer and nut
for the handle. (Handle is not included, but is available separately.)
