I admit
it, I am a tool junkie. I am always searching for well-made tools that save
time and make art projects easier and more fun.
At the Hobby Industry Association trade show, one innovative tool that
really captured my attention was an easy-to-use and quiet desktop eyelet setter
called the Home Pro LR. I
never quite got the hang of hammering eyelets, so this desktop setter really
appealed to me.
Because tools can take up a lot of valuable space, I like it when they can
accomplish more than just one task. The HomePro LR excels in this
versatility! With additional attachments (many priced below $10), this
tool, also called a setting press, can set four different sizes of eyelets, punch four different size holes,
set rivets, set many sizes of nailheads, attach metal corners, set two-part
snaps, and set several sizes of rimset rhinestones! (Unfortunately, it
does not cook or wash dishes.)
HomePro LR Desktop
The HomePro LR desktop tool has a 6-inch
throat, which allows you to set eyelets in the center of a 12x12 scrapbook
page. The Home Pro LR comes with 3/16" eyelet and punch
setting tools, and many other attachments are available separately or in kits
(see below).
The Home Pro LR is the only eyelet setter with the six features that are most
important to me:
* It is perfectly quiet
* It is very easy to use
* It has a long reach
* It "curls" eyelet backs, instead of splitting them, so eyelets
set with the Home Pro LR are as attractive on the back as
they are on the front
* It punches neat holes in paper, chipboard, acrylic and even lightweight metal
* AND it is versatile. The HomePro LR is the only eyelet setting tool that has
attachments for setting four eyelet sizes, nailheads, rivets, two-part snaps,
metal corners and rhinestones!
The base of an assembled HomePro LR
measures 8-1/2" x 2-1/2" and the height is approximately 9 inches.

This handy new carrying case holds the Home
Pro LR and accessories in style. Made of heavy-duty denim, it includes
sturdy hand straps, a shoulder strap, exterior and interior pockets and a double
zipper closure. The two outside pockets hold the eyelet tool kit and the
nailhead toolkit, and close with Velcro for easy access. The inside has a
snap-shut strap to hold the base of the Home Pro LR, and a strap with a toggle
holds the arm down to keep things compact. Two wide pockets inside (made of mesh
for easy visibility) allow you to carry bags of eyelets, nailheads, and other
accessories with your tools.

Punching and setting tools for the jumbo 1/4" eyelets are available

Eyelets are great, but sometimes only a grommet will
do. For fabric, leather and other more flexible materials, we have new
grommet setting tools and two-part 1/4" grommets in two finishes: brass
and aluminum. Grommet tops have a larger surface than eyelets, and they
have a second part to secure them tighter to fabric and other flexible
material.
Grommet setting tool attachments work in the Home Pro LR eyelet setter.
Two-piece 1/4" grommets come in packages of 25, with 25 grommets and 25
washers in each package.
Rivets Rivets look like eyelets from the back, but have solid rounded tops.
We have rivets in five metal finishes: bright brass, antique brass, silver,

Pinwheels are a unique way to jazz up your eyelets without spending a lot of
money on fancy eyelets. You can attach pinwheels with 3/32" eyelets
or with tiny brads. We have these decorative "collars" for
eyelets in five designs. FUN!
Spinner embellishments
Think of all the neat ways you can use spinners:
for fortune telling games, pie charts with choices (loves me, loves me not),
to make a compass, to decorate a map. The list goes on and on. Our spinners
come in three styles: black plastic, red plastic, shiny silver steel, and
bright copper (that can be aged with a little heat!). They all have
holes in the center so you can quickly attach them with eyelets. The two metal
styles have bevels to help them spin.

Have you seen the beautiful metal corners artists are adding to
altered books, scrapbook pages, book covers, cards and photos? These great

Rhinestones
Like crows, many of us love to feather our nests with all things bright and
shiny! American Tag's new rhinestone setting tools for the Home Pro LR
Eyelet Setter makes setting rhinestones simple and quick. We're adding
rhinestone accents to cards, scrapbook pages, leather, handbags and clothing --
and the compliments are pouring in!
We have seven different packages of acrylic rhinestones: a 132-piece Starter
Kit, and 4mm and 6mm samplers in Primary, Pastel and Elegant colors. All

Snaps
Paper snaps come in bright brass, antique
brass and antique nickel and can be used for envelope closures, paper purse
closures and paper pocket closures. These should be set with the Home Pro
snap setting tool attachment (no longer available) and are not designed for
fabric or other material that will be opened and closed repeatedly.
